August 23rd in 2000 we tuned in to watch Richard Hatch win the first ever Survivor, and a phenomenon began. 20 seasons later we are still watching the conniving tribes battle it out in exotic locations. Here are the best of the seasons so far:
The only reason that this season is so low on the list is because of the dreaded Exile Island, which I do not like. Coach and J.T. made this season very enjoyable though.
The introduction of Boston Rob to the reality world, does anyone even remember the winner Vecepia?
#10. Micronesia – Fans Vs. Favorites (Season 16, 2008)
We picked our favorite Survivors to compete against the greatest fans. It was worth it just to see Jonny Fairplay get eliminated first round.
Two Words : Russell Hantz
Jenna Morasca won this season somehow, I think it was because her and Heidi stripped for peanut butter. It was an entertaining season with Rob Cesternino who knows the game of Survivor better than Jeff himself.
Not the most exciting season as far as drama. These people weren’t the cutthroat players we see today. In the end, the nice guy won, Ethan, who also ended up winning the winner of Season 6, Jenna.
Everyone was rooting for Tom to win this season and he did. This season also introduced the toughest female competitor Stephanie, who went on to play 2 more times.
#5. All-Stars (Season 8, 2004)
This bizarre season was nothing that we expected. The strategy had to change for everyone and some of the front-runners were out quickly. Rob and Amber stole the show as we watched them fall in love and by the finale Rob was ready to propose, so did it matter which one of them won? Another classic moment was Richard’s nakedness offending Sue Hawk, enough for her to exit the show.
Fan favorite Rupert’s debut, Jonny Fairplay lying about his grandmother dying and Sandra winning the first of 2 titles.
The second season proved that this wasn’t just a one hit wonder. It had a great cast including Colby who basically gave up a million dollars so that he wouldn’t eliminate nice lady Tina Wesson, who ended up winning. It also gave us the villain we loved to hate, Jerri Manthey. In a dramatic episode, Michael Supkin had to leave the show because of passing out and falling into the fire. This is also The View’s Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s debut into stardom.
#2. Heroes Vs. Villians (Season 20, 2010)
No other season of Survivor kept my interest, other than the first season, more than Heroes Vs. Villians. It had so much drama and manipulating in it, that I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. Russell has brought an art to being manipulative and it is great fun to watch. Although in the end Sandra won for the 2nd time, a Survivor first.
#1. Borneo (Season 1, 2000)
The original is always the best. Even though Richard Hatch changed the game forever, it was Sue Hawk’s speech during the finale that made the 1st season so memorable. There are so many great moments in this season that could never be re-created and that is why it is #1.
